	This material from the life and career of Woody Allen, collected by Andreas Brown of the Gotham Book Mart & Gallery in New York, includes screenplays, playscripts, cast and production information, lobby cards, posters, pressbooks, presskits, souvenir programs, publicity stills, articles by and about Allen, short stories, photographs, and Allen memorabilia.
	The collection is arranged in two series: Series I. Works, 1963-2002; and Series II. Personal and Career-Related Material, 1937-2004.
	The Works series is organized in two subseries: Subseries A. Films and Stage Plays; and Subseries B. Other Writings. Arranged alphabetically by title, nearly all films and plays for which Allen was the director, screenwriter, actor and/or producer are represented in some measure. Screenplay drafts, some signed, are present for Annie Hall (1977), Antz (1971), Bananas (1971), Bullets over Broadway (1994), Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989), Deconstructing Harry (1997), Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Sex* *But Were Afraid to Ask (1972), "The Filmmaker" (n.d.), The Front (1976), Hannah and Her Sisters (1986), Hollywood Ending (2002), Interiors (1978), Love and Death (1975), Manhattan (1979), A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy (1982), Play It Again, Sam (1972), Radio Days (1987), Scenes from a Mall (1991), Sleeper (1973), "Stanley" (n.d.), Stardust Memories (1980), and Take the Money and Run (1969). Also of interest are the agreements, contracts, riders, and correspondence related to Allen's first major film What's New Pussycat?, previously titled "Lot's Wife." The material dates from 1963-1965 and includes letters to and from Charles H. Abramson and Harry E. Sokolov of Famous Artists Productions, Charles H. Joffe of Jack Rollins Personal Management, producer Charles K. Feldman, and Fred Goldberg. Playscripts are included for Don't Drink the Water (1966), The Floating Light Bulb (1981), Play It Again, Sam (1969), and "Sex and Death: Two Plays," ca. 1974.
	The other writings in Subseries B. include articles by Allen for magazines, as well as the short story "The Kugelmass Episode," and his humor collection Without Feathers.
	Series II. Personal and Career-Related Material contains an eclectic mix of discrete items connected to Allen's life and work. Numerous magazine and newspaper articles about Allen are present, as are photographs from his childhood years to recent publicity photographs, many signed. Of iconic interest is a vinyl mask of Woody Allen's head, accompanied by his signature black framed glasses. Vintage pieces include a series of lobby boards from his standup days of the 1960s, performing in the Catskills.
