This collection contains eighty-two, ¼-inch audio cassette tapes recorded by Hilary Mills Loomis while researching her 1982 book Mailer: A Biography. Included are recordings of several news broadcasts related to the trial of Jack Henry Abbott, one interview with Norman Mailer, and interviews with over one hundred of his friends, family, and associates.
