The Richard Aldington Literary File consists of 309 photographic prints, all but nine of which are contained in two photographic albums. The albums, titled "Travel Photographs taken by Richard Aldington," date from 1928 to the 1930s. The photographs were taken by Aldington and Brigit Patmore, and are accompanied by captions and notations by Aldington and Derek Patmore. Aldington's travels to Italy, Portugal, Spain, France, Austria, the Isle of Capri, Sicily, Tunisia, and Greece are all documented here. Among the loose prints, of particular note is a formal portrait of Aldington taken by Man Ray.
