Additional letters and questionnaires concern Conrad and his place in literature; responses from Ralph Ellison, Ford Madox Ford, Robert Graves, Graham Greene, Fannie Hurst, James Michener, Henry Miller, George Orwell, Katherine Anne Porter, J. B. Priestley, Bertrand Russell, John Steinbeck, William Styron, Robert Penn Warren, Thornton Wilder, and others are included.
