Scope and Contents

The bulk of the collection is made up of photographs of authors taken by Joe Pacheco of the Brooklyn store (826 National). Also included are proofs of essays for the Believer, a monthly art and culture magazine, and back issues of eleven of the first sixteen issues of Might magazine, Dave Eggers' first foray into periodicals prior to launching Timothy McSweeney's Quarterly Concern. These back issues were sold as sets in plastic bags from McSweeney's first Brooklyn store, called "Store," and included a serious/humorous fact sheet entitled "Rules for Buyers of These Old Magazines."
