TITLE   Olympia Confectionery soda fountain
DESCRIPTION   Interior view of the Olympia Confectionery inside the Nueces Hotel at 602 Chaparral Street in Corpus Christi, Texas. Two men in waitstaff attire stand behind a white serving counter decorated with large painted stencils of birds and flowers. The man at left was identified in 1975 as Sam Hatherly, the owner of this confectionery and Sam's Candy Kitchen. Later research in the 1980s indicated V. K. Hrissikopoulos to be the owner, along with his nephew Charlie (see negative 976:0021:0019 for an image of Hrissikopoulos as well as a view of the candy counter opposite the soda fountain). This soda fountain sold Borden's malted milk as well as beer.
