Constable's Office |
DESCRIPTION |
|
Interior view of the Constable's Office located in the old 1914 Nueces County Courthouse in Corpus Christi, Texas. Four men stand behind and one man sits at a glass-topped wooden desk in a small otherwise unfurnished room. All the men are in business attire and wear hats. Photographs are scattered under the glass of the desk, and a paper-routing box sits on top. From left to right, the standing men are possibly U.S. Deputy Marshall Dewy Tom, unidentified, "Dugie" Ware (a deputy from Bluntzer), and L. B. Peckinpaugh. In 1975 the man seated was identified as Sheriff Wright. After additional research in the 1980s, he was identified as Constable Bill Eliff. |
