Photograph album containing 96 mounted and 1 laid-in gelatin silver prints likely taken by Minnie H. Sewell. The photographs, all snapshots, were taken throughout the south of England between Brighton and Plymouth. Other locations include Patcham, Bramber, Southampton, Lyndhurst, and Lymington. Several depict the same little girl with family members, on the beach, and in other locations. Many of the photographs were taken on Brighton Beach, with others depicting thatched-roof dwellings, livestock, and villages. The first leaf of the album is inscribed: "Minnie H. Sewell. / 53 Buckingham Place / Brighton. / Dec. 1899. / Photos taken during the year. 1899". |
