Per the preface: "The following sun-pictures of the ancient ruined buildings on the banks of the Nile were made for Messrs. Negretti and Zambra by Mr. Frith, during a visit to Egypt, Nubia and Ethiopia, in the years 1859, 1860." The Ransom Center's copy contains 98 mounted albumen prints (stereographs) by Frith (British, 1822-1898).
