The collection consists of thirty-nine images of and related to the author R. M. (Robert Michael) Ballantyne (Scottish, 1825-1894). Included are original and copy print portraits of Ballantyne, both alone and with his wife Jane "Jeanie", his parents, brother and children, and their home in Harrow, England.
