Description:

The collection consists of two photographs by Pirkle Jones (American, 1914-2009) that are plates from his Portfolio One (San Francisco: s.n., 1955). The commissioned portfolio of photographs, which was limited to an edition of 150, was issued in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the signing of the United Nations Charter. Production of the portfolio was sponsored by Bank of America, and copies of the portfolio were presented to each United Nations delegate member in San Francisco, June 20, 1955. Item-level information follows with title information taken from the labels on the prints' mounts versos.
