HRC Leaf A48 Catholic Church. Antiphonal leaf, feast of St. Lawrence. Spain: 15th-16th century. 1 leaf: parchment, 525 x 370 mm. Written in Latin, gothic rotunda script. Layout is six long lines of text alternating with square musical notation on 5-line red staves. Ruled in lead. Decoration includes one 3-line red pen-initial with border on recto and one 3-line black pen-flourished initial on verso. Foliated 98 in upper right corner of recto. Text: "-cius meus in excelsis ascendat ad dominu[m] de precatione. Confessio et pulchritudo in co[n]spectu eius sa[n]ctitas et magnificentia in santificatione eius. Cantate domino canticu[m] novu[m]: cantate." Provenance: Gift of Shirley Alexander, University of Texas Art & Art History Department, 1997. Formerly designated as G11238B uncat.
