HRC Leaf M19 Catholic Church. Missal leaf. Germany: 1175-1225. 1 leaf: parchment, 260 x 200 mm. Written in Latin, late protogothic (praegothica) script. Layout is nine to eighteen lines in two columns and four to eight lines alternating with square musical notation on 4-line red staves. Decoration includes two 2-line red initials and four 2-line red-and-black initials. Text: (recto, column A, first initial) "Aevia. Paratum cor meum deus paratum… (verso, column B, last line) turbavit eu[m] [et] elisus in-." M19 and M20 originate from the same manuscript and were used as binder's waste. Use: Unrestricted, for either reading room or classroom use. Facsimile: Complete digital facsimile available. Provenance: Gift of Aubrey E. Skinner, G2638, 1986.
