Advance Publishing Company | Advance Publishing Company was founded in 1867 as the book publishing arm of 'Advance' magazine, a Congregationalist church weekly based in Chicago. Advance Publishing Company ceased publishing around 1920, although 'Advance' magazine continued in existence and later underwent a number of mergers. Following the union of the Congregational Christian Churches and the Evangelical and Reformed Church in 1957, the parent church would now be the United Church of Christ.
