Small, Maynard and CompanyThe publishing firm of Small, Maynard and Company was founded in Boston in 1897 by Herbert Small and Laurens Maynard. The firm was in financial difficulty by the mid-1920s. Society for the Publication of American MusicThe Society for the Publication of American Music (SPAM) was founded by Burnet C. Tuthill in New York in 1919.
