| Curwen Press | The music publishing firm of Curwen Press was founded by John Curwen (1816-1880) and was originally known as J. Curwen & Sons Ltd. In 1969 the firm was purchased by the US publishers Crowell, Collier & Macmillan. According to the catalogue of the archives of the Derrydale Press, in Princeton University Library, the firm went into liquidation in 1942. 'Dictionary of Literary Biography' 46 (1986), p. 112, states that Derrydale's assets were sold in 1942 to the publisher of sporting prints Frank J. Lowe. Rights to the firm have now been acquired by the Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group, whose website states that they are "in the process of reviving Derrydale".
