| John B. Alden | John B. Alden began his bookselling and publishing business in New York in the 1870s. He founded a number of firms, several of which went bankrupt. His last two enterprises bore the names of John B. Alden Publisher (1895-1905) and Alden Brothers Publishers (1905-1908). In 1908 he retired and closed down his firm. He died in 1924.
