John B. Alden	John B. Alden began his bookselling and publishing business in New York in the 1870s. He founded a number of firms, several of which went bankrupt. His last two enterprises bore the names of John B. Alden Publisher (1895-1905) and Alden Brothers Publishers (1905-1908). In 1908 he retired and closed down his firm. He died in 1924. Kegan Paul, Trench, Trübner & Co.	Kegan Paul, Trench & Co. was formed as a company in 1878. Nicholas Trübner formed his company in 1851. The two companies merged to form Kegan Paul, Trench, Trübner & Co. in 1889. In 1912 Kegan Paul, Trench, Trübner & Co. merged with George Routledge & Sons to form Routledge & Kegan Paul. Kelmscott Press	The Kelmscott Press was founded by William Morris in 1891. The main activities of the press came to an end on Morris's death in 1896, and the firm was closed down in 1898.	2006

L. C. Page & Company	The firm of L. C. Page & Company was founded in Boston by Lewis Coues Page in 1896. The firm was purchased by Farrar, Straus and Cudahy (later Farrar, Straus & Giroux) in 1957. Lawrence Hill & Co. Publishers	Lawrence Hill founded his own publishing firm in 1972, shortly after the sale of his previous firm, Hill & Wang (q.v.). He continued publishing until his death in 1988.
