Chilton Publishing CompanyChilton Publishing Company (also known as Chilton Book Company) was founded in Philadelphia around 1904. In 1985 the firm was purchased by Capital Cities, and in 1996 Capital Cities was acquired by Walt Disney Company. In 1997 Disney divided the publishing assets of Chilton and sold them to various buyers. The Magazine Division was acquired by Reed Elsevier, and the Professional Automotive Group by the Hearst Corporation.
