| Vale Press | The Vale Press was founded by Charles S. Ricketts and Charles H. Shannon in 1893. It was named after 'The Vale', the house in Chelsea where Ricketts and Shannon lived. | Vine Press | The Vine Press was founded by Victor Neuburg in 1919 and remained in his personal ownership. The Vine Press went out of existence in 1930 and Neuburg died in 1940. There was a brief attempt to revive the press in 1947 by Neuburg's partner Runia MacLeod, but this produced only one publication. | 2006 |
| Walter H. Baker Company | George M. Baker purchased the play division of Herbert Sweet and Company (q.v.) in 1872 and renamed the firm George M. Baker and Company. The firm was managed by Baker's brother Walter H. Baker, and was renamed the Walter H. Baker Company in 1892. The firm now trades as Baker's Plays. | Werner Company | The Werner Company was founded in Chicago in 1892 by Paul E. Werner. In 1897 the firm moved to Akron, Ohio. In 1900 the publishing arm of the company was purchased by its sales manager, Arthur J. Saalfield, who established the Saalfield Publishing Company. In 1902 the Werner School-Book Company was purchased by the American Book Company. | Werner Laurie Ltd | Werner Laurie was part of the the Bodley Head publishing house from 1957 until 1987. The Bodley Head was sold to Random House in 1987.
