Abstract: Includes manuscripts and letters written by, to, or about Hartley Coleridge, the English author, educator, and eldest son of poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. Correspondents include members of the Coleridge, Southey, Wordsworth and related families–including Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Robert Southey–and other notables such as Charlotte Brontë and Lord Alfred Tennyson. A number of letters are addressed to Derwent Coleridge following the death of his brother Hartley in 1849.
