The Parker Tyler Literary File consists of 279 photographic prints and negatives,
including portraits and snapshots of Tyler, Pavel Tchelitchew, and various other people;
photographic reproductions of art works by various artists; views of stained glass
windows; and production material for Tyler’s book Florine Stettheimer: A Life in Art. Also included are three photograph albums; two contain snapshots and portraits of
Tyler and various other people as well as photographs taken by others and sent to
Tyler; one is comprised chiefly of commercial views and art reproductions from Italy.
The materials are arranged as follows: images of Tyler and others; reproductions of
artwork; and images in each of three albums. Descriptions were derived by the archivist
from inscriptions on the image or in albums, where available. Original prints exist
for all negatives. An index at the end of this guide lists photographers whose work
is featured in this file.
This file forms a part of the Harry Ransom Center’s Literary File Collection, which
is comprised of photographs and albums withdrawn from the libraries and/or papers
of literary figures, and generally includes photographs either taken by, collected
by, or of those figures.
