Scope and Contents


This collection was assembled by Crawford A. Peffer, who was Vice President of the Redpath Lyceum Bureau. Included are Peffer’s manuscript which outlines the history of the bureau; business files which contain programs, brochures, clippings, and schedules for seasons dating from 1912 to 1934; programs arranged alphabetically by lecturer or topic; a single file of Peffer’s correspondence with a client, the actress Eva LeGallienne, 1939-1959; and miscellaneous items, including a poster, 1878-1878 (in pieces), a printing block, a file of various forms, publications, clippings, and photographs, and a typescript for The Story of Tent Chautauqua by Harry P. Harrison.
The collection is organized into four series: I. Works, II. Business Files, III. Programs, and IV. Miscellaneous.
