Abstract: Contains manuscripts and correspondence by the English novelist, playwright, and short story author W. Somerset Maugham. Works include his early novel, The Merry-go-Round (1904), and other seminal works such as Cakes and Ale (1930) and The Moon and Sixpence (1919). Maugham's letters to Barbara Back, Reginald Golding Bright, Paul Dottin, Charles Frohman, various family members (including nephew Robin Maugham), Karl Graham Pfeiffer, James B. Pinker, and Gladys Bronwyn Stern predominate. Also present is extensive research material and correspondence gathered by Maugham bibliographer Klaus W. Jonas.
