The collection consists of 29 photographs of and related to novelist Wilkie Collins
(British, 1824-1889). The items in the collection were transferred from manuscript
collections that likely include the Wilkie Collins Collection (MS-00881) and the Robert
Lee
Wolff Collection of 19th Century Fiction (MS-00881). One photograph (997:0079:0044)
was
removed from a copy of Collins' book, The Evil Genius: A Domestic
Stories, from the library of Robert Lee Wolff, that is located in the Ransom
Center library (call no. WOLFF 1350). Further descriptions of some items may be available
in
a card catalog in the repository. An index at the end of this guide lists photographers
whose work is featured in this file.
This file forms a part of the Literary File Collection that is comprised of photographs
and
albums withdrawn from the libraries and/or papers of literary figures, and generally
