Abstract: |
The collection of American novelist, poet,
and critic Edward Dahlberg contains manuscripts for many of his works, several of
which are
documented in-depth by research notes, multiple drafts, proofs, reviews, and correspondence,
such as his autobiography Because I was Flesh (1964). Also
present are extensive materials from Dahlberg bibliographer and editor Harold Billings.
Other major correspondents include Kay Boyle, Dominick Browne, Stanley Burnshaw, Isabella
Gardner, Josephine Herbst, Anthony Kerrigan, James Laughlin, Frank MacShane, Charles
Olson,
Donald J. Paquette, Herbert Read, William M. Ryan, Victor Weybright, Jonathan Williams,
