British writer and journalist Henry Major
Tomlinson, known for his novels of seafaring and adventure, is represented by manuscripts
and notebooks for articles, broadcasts, diaries, lectures, novels, reviews, short
stories,
and travel sketches. His sizeable correspondence files include letters to and/or from
Edmund
Blunden, Norman Douglas, Edward Garnett, Kenneth Hopkins, Christopher Morley, John
Middleton
Murray, Siegfried Sassoon, Frank Swinnerton, and Tomlinson family members, among others.
Additional correspondence with English and American publishers also includes contracts
and
royalty statements. Elsewhere in the Ransom Center are photographs, books by Tomlinson,
and
volumes from his personal
library.
