Title:
Selwa Roosevelt, Collection of Fleur
Cowles
Dates:
1964-1998
Extent:
1 box (.42 linear feet)
Abstract:
The Selwa Roosevelt Collection of
Fleur Cowles is primarily made up of over 100 letters from Fleur Cowles to Selwa
"Lucky" Roosevelt, but also present are a small number of copied letters from
Lucky
to Fleur, clippings, and photographs.
Over 100 letters from Fleur Cowles to Selwa "Lucky" Roosevelt (1964-1998) make up
the
majority of this collection, but also present are a small number of copied letters
from Lucky to Fleur (1975-1983), correspondence regarding a Fleur exhibition at
the
Folger Shakespeare Library, a proposal and research notes for a Fleur article
to be
written by Lucky, a few clippings about Fleur, and some photographs and negatives.
The material remains much as it arrived at the Ransom Center. The eighty letters
that arrived in the 1998 shipment were combined with the small amount of
correspondence arriving in 2002, and a very little organization was done to finalize
the chronological order.
