Abstract:
Includes manuscripts of writings and letters of the British novelist and essayist
Llewelyn Powys, as well some of his personal, financial, and legal records. Many items
were transcribed by his wife, the writer Alyse Gregory, and a number of her own manuscripts
and letters are also present. Among the couple's correspondents are Gerald Brenan,
Van Wyck Brooks, Theodore Dreiser, Ethel Mannin, Havelock Ellis, Naomi Mitchison,
Clifford Musgrave, many Powys family members, Rose Rosamond, Marie Stopes, Gamel Woolsey,
and many others.
