Thomas Edward Lawrence, archaeologist, soldier, and author, was born at Tremadoc,
Wales, on August 15, 1888. For an extensive biographical sketch, please see

Scope and Contents
This collection includes a sketchbook with pencil and watercolor drawings purportedly
by Lawrence, and drawings by William Roberts and Gilbert Spencer that appeared
in
Lawrence's 1926 edition of Seven Pillars of Wisdom.
Also included are portraits by Robert Darrouzet of Lawrence in early and later
life.
The first series contains drawings by other artists, the second comprises sketches
done by Lawrence.
