The Oliver La Farge Literary File Photography Collection consists of 584 items; the
majority are scenes from La Farge's expedition to Guatemala for Columbia University
in 1932.
There are also portraits of La Farge, scenes from his expedition to Guatemala for
Tulane
University in 1927, snapshots from his friends' wedding, images of indigenous peoples
of the
Americas, and views of Central and South America. Further descriptions of some items
may be
available in a card catalog in the repository.
This file forms a part of the Literary Files Photography Collection that is comprised
of
photographs and albums withdrawn from the libraries and/or papers of literary figures,
and
generally includes portraits and images collected by or of those figures.
