The Fannie Hurst Literary File
consists of 896 images. Many of the loose prints are of Hurst alone, with various
people including her husband Jacques S. Danielson, and/or with various pets. There
are also numerous portraits of celebrities of Hurst’s day, many of which were
autographed presentations to her.

Scope and Contents
The Fannie Hurst Literary File consists of 896 images (631 loose prints, 264 prints
in 2 albums, and a photographic reproduction of a caricature, partially adhered to a
piece of glass). Many of the loose prints are of Hurst alone, with various people
including her husband Jacques S. Danielson, and/or with various pets. There are also
numerous portraits of celebrities of Hurst’s day, many of which were autographed
presentations to her. Further descriptions of some items are available in a card
catalog in the repository.
This collection forms part of the Literary File Photography Collection, which is
comprised of photographs and albums withdrawn from the libraries and/or papers of
literary figures, and generally include portraits and images collected by or of
those figures.
The Harry Ransom Center holds additional Hurst material in the Fannie Hurst Papers
