The Eugene O'Neill Literary File Photography Collection consists of 233 items, mostly
studio portraits of O'Neill, his second wife, Agnes, and their children, Shane and Oona.
There are also studio portraits of O'Neill's fellow Provincetown Players including
playwrights, poets and actors. The bulk of the images are by Nickolas Muray and include
studio portraits as well as copy prints of O'Neill's family photographs. An index at the end
of this guide lists photographers whose work is featured in this file. Further descriptions
of some items may be available in a card catalog in the repository.

This file forms a part of the Literary Files Photography Collection that is comprised of
photographs and albums withdrawn from the libraries and/or papers of literary figures, and
generally includes portraits and images collected by or of those figures.
