DESCRIPTION   Interior view of Sam Uehlinger's grocery store located at 912 Leopard Street at Corpus Christi, Texas. A man in a long white apron stands in the center of a U-shaped check out counter. Sam Uehlinger's was one of the first self-service stores in Corpus Christi. They sold bulk eggs, Lipton's tea, Fair-Maid bread, Folger's coffee, Super Suds detergent, Ferry seeds, and Layman's aspirin for 5¢ per package. Note the Uneeda Bakers bulk containers and the geometrically-arranged canned and boxed items above the wall shelving.
