Summary: This opera in two acts was adapted from the book by Alice Leal Pollack, with music by Henry Hadley. It was produced by the Metropolitan Opera Company under Giulio Gatti-Casazza. The conductor was Gennaro Papi, the director was Richard Ordynski, and the scenes were designed by Bel Geddes. The production opened on 1 February 1920 with Frances Alda and Orville Harrold.
