Job 78, Palais Royal Cabaret Theatre, 1922

Summary: Bel Geddes designed the interior and performance space for Sam Salvin’s Palais Royal Cabaret, which opened in New York City on 20 December 1922, and featured the Paul Whiteman band and Wanda Hoff’s Isadora Duncan-style dancers.

George S. Kaufman dubbed the Cabaret “the Geddes triumph,” asserting that it “proved ... that art and the night places can go hand in hand.”
