Description:

Photographic album belonging to C. J. Peacock, bound in green and black leather, and containing 62 mounted albumen prints. The first 12 photographs, by Fotografia Dell’Emilia, are of streetscapes, architecture and architectural details in Bologna, Italy. The remaining photographs, by G. Lekegian & Co. (31), Antoine Beato (6), and Zangaki (6), are views of architecture, monuments, and people in Egypt. Included in this group are photographs of the pyramids and Sphinx at Giza, temples at Luxor and Karnak, mosques in Cairo, the Island of Philae, and the Aswan Cataract. The photographs date from the 1860s to the 1880s.
