Description:

Published portfolio by Manuel Álvarez Bravo (Mexican, 1902-2002) titled Photographs (Geneva, Switzerland: Acorn Editions, 1977). The portfolio consists of a four-page colophon and 15 matted photographs in contained within a gray clamshell box with metal latches (46.3 x 38.5 x 5.8 cm). From the colophon: "These photographs were printed by Manuel Alvarez Bravo in Mexico City, Mexico in 1977. The edition consists of one hundred portfolios of fifteen photographs, each signed by the artist and numbered from 1 to 100.". The Ransom Center's copy is number 40. The colophon provides the Spanish and English titles, as well as the date of the negative, for each print. Item-level information follows.
