Description:

Victorian photograph album containing 27 cartes-de-visite and 7 cabinet card portraits. Photographers include F. Foster (4), J. Oman (2), London Stereoscopic Co. (1), Cundall, Downes and Co. (1), Bennet (1), and one photograph each by 17 other photographers. Bound in brown leather with gold and darker brown embellishments on the cover and spine. All pages are edged in gold. A wind-up music box is located in a compartment made from hollowed-out, adhered pages at the end of the album. The album pages contain one or four slots into which the card photographs are inserted. Four of the single-slot pages, which hold cabinet cards, are surrounded by chromolithograph floral arrangements.
