Description:

Photograph album, bound in black and green leather, containing 22 mounted photographs (13 albumen prints, 8 collotypes, 1 gelatin silver printing-out-paper print). The album was incomplete at the time of purchase and is missing approximately 10 pages. The majority of photographs are landscapes and cityscapes, with additional views of architecture, in and around London (11), and in Zurich (6), Rotterdam (2), Cologne (1), Heidelberg (1), and Scotland (1). Photographers whose work is included in the album are: Schroeder & Cie. (5), George Washington Wilson (5), Francis Frith & Co. (3), Clivedon (2), Carl Lange (1), and Photoglob Zurich (1). Of the remaining 5 photographs by unidentified photographers, 1 may be attributed to Wilson. The creator of the album dated every image 1895, 1897, or 1898.
