The collection consists of a color portfolio, titled Harry Callahan, comprised of 30 dye transfer prints; 1 loose dye transfer print (identical to an image in the portfolio); and 2 loose gelatin silver prints by Harry Callahan (American, 1912-1999). Subjects include Callahan's wife Eleanor (including a portrait taken in artist Hugo Weber's studio), and daughter Barbara; streetscenes in Chicago, Florence, Paris, Providence, and Venice; building facades in Atlanta, Chicago, and New York; houses and storefronts in Detroit; and natural phenomena including vegetation and beaches on Cape Cod, and the desert in Egypt. |
