The collection consists of 126 silver gelatin prints, photographic postcards, and nitrate negatives of the Mexican Revolution led by Francisco “Pancho” Villa. Subjects include formal portraits of Mexican and American military officers, shipping in the Gulf of Mexico, architecture, agriculture and commerce in Laredo, Texas, and law enforcement efforts. The photographs, which date from circa 1910 to circa 1930, were made by J. W. (James William) Falvella (American, 1878-1952), Serrano Studio (Laredo, Texas), and an unidentified photographer(s). |
