Description:

Photographically illustrated book, titled The Acropolis of Athens, Illustrated Picturesquely and Architecturally in Photography (London: F. S. Ellis, 1870), containing 26 photographs by journalist and photographer William James Stillman (American, 1828-1901). The album, which was "Printed by the Autotype company," includes a mounted photograph on the title page followed by 25 plates with descriptive letterpress on the opposite page of each plate.
