Photograph album, marked “Photographs,” containing 58 albumen prints and 1 salted paper print by O. G. (Oscar Gustaf) Rejlander (British, 1813-1875, born Sweden). The album, according to Helmut Gernsheim, originally “belonged to Cecil Gordon Lawson (1851-1882), a gifted British painter and Royal Academy exhibitor” for whom some of these studios were probably undertaken." The album is comprised of images of “nudes...children, [and] studies of hands, which Rejlander is known to have done for professional artists to work from.” |
