The collection consists of 70 photographic prints (69 gelatin silver, 1 chromogenic color) from an exhibition excerpted from the book El Salvador: Work of Thirty Photographers (New York Writers and Readers Pub. Cooperative, 1983). The photographs are images of the Photographers whose work is represented in the collection are: Aslak Aarhus (Norwegian, born 1952); J. Ross Baughman (American, born 1953); Patrick Chauvel (French, born 1949); Richard Cross (American, 1950-1983); Mike Goldwater (British, born 1951); John Hoagland (American, 1947-1984); Oswald Iten (Swiss, born 1950); Alain Keler (French, born 1945); Harry Mattison (American, born 1948); Susan Meiselas (American, born 1948); Étienne Montès (French, born Catalonia, active 1970s-1980s); James Nachtwey (American, born 1948); Michel Philippot (French, born 1946); Christian Poveda (Hispanic-French, 1957-2009); Eli Reed (American, born 1946); Alon Reininger (Israeli, born 1947); Eugene Richards (American, born 1944); Arturo Robles (Mexican?, active 1980- ); Michel Setboun (French, born 1952); Kenneth Silverman (active 1980s); Bill Stanton (American, born 1946); and Chris Steele-Perkins (British, born 1947).
