Description:

Limited edition portfolio titled Aaron Siskind: Photogravures (New York: The Limited Editions Club, 1990). Edition 22/30. Contained within a linen clamshell portfolio are a title page, six photogravures by Aaron Siskind (American, 1903-1991) printed on Richard de Bas handmade paper, and a colophon. Each print is titled, dated, and signed by the artist. These same images, which are abstract images of tar patches and stains on pavement, were used to illustrate the Limited Editions Club's 1990 edition of Song of the Open Road by Walt Whitman. A copy of Song of the Open Road, a copy of which is held by the Ransom Center (call number f PS 3222 S647 1990 HRC-P).
