HRC 19 Catholic Church. Antiphonary (Winter Temporale). Italy [or Spain?]: 15th century. 160 leaves: parchment, 550 x 390 mm. Written in Latin, Gothic rotunda script. Layout is 30 lines ruled with musical notation in red ink and lyrics in leadpoint, plus left and right margins ruled in red ink. Decoration includes one historiated initial depicting the Annunciation framed by two dragons with a foliate border. Binding: Bound in brown diced tanned leather over wood boards with metal corner guards and center pieces; the letter "R" is [printed?] on paper and tacked on with a leather border on the lower half of the front cover. Provenance: Possibly written for the congregation of Santa Giustina of Padua; Edward A. Parsons Collection; see De Ricci, Parsons no. 8.
