HRC Leaf A35 Catholic Church. Breviary leaf. England: 14th-15th century. 1 leaf: parchment, 460 x 320 mm. Written in Latin, gothic textualis formata script. Layout is in two columns: column A is 4-line red staves with square musical notation alternating with 25-30 lines of text; column B is 4-line red staves with square musical notation and about 50 lines of text (either side). Ruled in brown ink. Decoration includes 1-, 2-, and 3-line illuminated initials throughout; 1-, 2-, and 3-line black initials and blue-and-red pen-flourished initials throughout; one 8-line illuminated initial "D" with foliate interior; foliate decoration in center, upper, and lower margins. Text: (Psalm 118:129 incipit at third line from bottom on recto and continues to first column on verso) "Mirabilia testimonia tua... (second column on verso contains part of an Ambrosian hymn) Somno refectis artubus (Psalm 26 at first large initial) Dominus illuminatio mea et salus mea: quem timebo (Psalm 27 incipit at eighth line from the bottom) Ad te D[omi]ne clamabo, deus meus... ."
