Paper Lion Ltd represents the Estate of Frieda Lawrence Ravagli. Different copyright rules apply in the UK and the USA. In the UK works published during Lawrence's lifetime have been out of copyright since 2001, but the Cambridge University Press Text Editions of Lawrence's works are in copyright until 2040 and potentially beyond. In the USA all works first published before 1927 are out of copyright, but works first published since 1927 (including 'Lady Chatterley's lover') remain copyright-protected. Unpublished works remain in copyright in the UK until 2040, but are out of copyright in the USA from 2003.
