Hulton Picture LibraryThe Hulton Picture Library was founded in 1947 as an adjunct to 'Picture Post' magazine. See the FOB entry for 'Picture Post'. The picture library was sold in 1958 to the BBC, and became known as the BBC Hulton Picture Library. In 1988 it was sold to Mr Brian Deutsch, and in 1996 was sold on to the Getty Communications Group (now Getty Images). See gettyimages.com.2007

HutchinsonGeorge Hutchinson founded his publishing company in 1887 and it remained a family firm until it was sold to London Weekend Television in 1979. In 1985 London Weekend Television sold Hutchinson to Century and the firm of Century Hutchinson was formed. Century Hutchinson was purchased by Random House UK in 1989. Random House UK was known as the "Random Century Group Limited" from 1989 to 1992, when it was renamed "Random House UK Limited". J. B. LippincottThe Lippincott publishing company was founded in 1785 and remained a family firm until it was purchased by Harper & Row in 1977. Harper & Row created an imprint called Lippincott & Crowell. The Lippincott division was sold by HarperCollins to Wolters Kluwer in 1990. J. C. Nimmo LtdJohn C. Nimmo founded the firm of J. C. Nimmo Ltd in 1879. Nimmo died in 1899 and his business was purchased by George Routledge & Sons in 1903. In 1912 George Routledge & Sons merged with Kegan Paul, Trench, Trübner & Co. to form Routledge & Kegan Paul. The Routledge Group was purchased by the Taylor & Francis Group in 1998. J. K. LasserThe firm of J. K. Lasser was established as a publishing firm with a specialism in taxation, beginning with 'Your income tax' by Jacob Kay Lasser (1896-1954). The firm evolved into the J.
